About the Company:
The Archdiocese of Chicago is the third largest in the United States, serving over 2.2 million Catholics across 216 parishes in Cook and Lake Counties, Illinois. Led by Cardinal Blase J. Job Description:
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) Internship offers practical experience in promoting the CCHD mission at the local level. The intern will have opportunities to engage with community leaders, reflect on Catholic social teaching, and collaborate with other CCHD interns nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Education:
• Increase parishioner and youth/young adult understanding of CCHD, Catholic social teaching, and the work of CCHD-funded organizations.
• Implement the Poverty Awareness Month campaign.
• Develop CST 101 materials and reflection guides.
• Document best practices within parishes.
• Manage social media presence.
• Fundraising:
• Enhance archdiocesan participation in the annual CCHD Collection.
• Assist in coordinating speaker campaigns and training.
• Outreach and communication with parishes regarding fundraising efforts.
• Write articles, blog posts, and bulletin announcements related to fundraising.
• Develop and distribute promotional materials.
• Grant-making:
• Build relationships with grant applicants and funded groups to facilitate goal achievement.
• Accompany the Coordinator on site visits to grant recipients.
• Assist with grant administration tasks.
• Identify, record, and share stories from grantees.
• Serve on the Allocations Advisory Committee.
Requirements:
• Experience with Catholic social teaching.
• Practicing Catholic/Christian.
Preferred:
• Undergraduate or graduate student.
Compensation:
• $20.00 per hour.
