About Year Up United’s Career Pathways:
Year Up United’s Career Pathways is an intensive job training program designed for young adults. The program lasts one year or less and offers a comprehensive approach to career development. It combines in-classroom skill development with practical experience through internships and job placement services. Participants receive personalized coaching and mentorship, along with a weekly educational stipend. The program’s placement services are facilitated by YUPRO Placement, an industry-leading talent placement firm.
Job Description:
Year Up United’s Career Pathways is not a job itself, but rather a training program leading to employment. The program provides participants with the skills and opportunities needed to launch their professional careers. The training includes:
• Technical and Professional Skills Development: In-depth classroom instruction covers various areas such as Banking Business Fundamentals, Helpdesk/Desktop Support, Application Development & Support, Quality Assurance, and Project Management Support.
• Professional Skills Training: Participants develop crucial professional skills, including business and communication skills, interviewing and networking techniques, and resume building. Ongoing support and guidance are provided to assist with career launching.
• Internship Opportunities: The program includes an internship component, with placement possibilities at reputable organizations like Amazon, Bank of America, Buzzfeed, BEN Group, and other leading companies in the Greater Los Angeles area. Interns receive a weekly stipend of $525.
• Job Placement Support: Year Up United leverages YUPRO Placement to assist graduates in securing employment after program completion.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for Year Up United’s Career Pathways, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Age: 18-29 years old
• Education: High school graduate or GED recipient
• Work Authorization: Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Availability: Available Monday-Friday for the program’s duration.
• Motivation: Highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills.
• Education Level: Have not obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
Program Outcomes:
A significant outcome of the program is its high placement rate. 75% of graduates are employed and/or enrolled in postsecondary education within 4 months of graduation. Employed graduates achieve an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
