About the Job:

Job Title: Calvary Music Youth Intern

Department: Youth Ministry

Reports To: Youth Worship Leaders

Location: Fort Lauderdale Campus

Hours: 20-25 hours per week

Job Summary:

This internship is designed to disciple the next generation of worship leaders, both musically and spiritually. The intern will be equipped with a deeper understanding of the gospel, scripture, prayer, worship, leadership, and God’s love. They will also learn what it looks like to love and serve their congregation well.

Key Responsibilities:

Disciple CMY Students: Mentor and guide youth involved in the Calvary Music Youth program.
Schedule Songs: Select appropriate songs for worship services.
Schedule People: Organize the CMY team for rehearsals and services.
Build Planning Center Sets: Create and manage worship sets within Planning Center.
Build Ableton Sets: Prepare backing tracks and other musical elements using Ableton.
Plan Extended Worship Sets: Develop longer and more in-depth worship experiences.
Assist in Planning CMY Events: Help organize and execute events specifically for the CMY program.
Assist in Planning Youth Hangout Nights and other Youth events: Support the planning of broader youth ministry events.
Assist in Communication to CMY: Help communicate important information to CMY members.
Onboard New Students to CMY: Welcome and integrate new students into the program.
Help Identify New Leaders: Recognize and develop potential student leaders within CMY.
Lead Rehearsals and Weekend Worship Sets: Take a leadership role in rehearsals and lead worship during services.
Ongoing Projects as Assigned: Assist with various tasks as needed by the Youth Worship Leaders.

• Learn how to lead rehearsals and worship services independently.
• Grow in ability to communicate biblical truth to students from 6th-12th grade.
• Grow in 1-1 discipleship skills.
• Learn how to use Ableton proficiently.
• Learn the behind-the-scenes aspects of youth worship ministry.
• Gain insight into how large, special events are planned and executed.
• Learn how to perform various administrative tasks.

Work Schedule:

• Thursday: 9am – 4pm
• Friday: 9am – 2pm (Intern cohort)
• Saturday: 2:30pm – 7:30pm (rehearsal and service)
• Sunday: 8:30am – 12:30pm (rehearsal and service)
• Occasional Friday and Sunday nights for Youth and CMY events

*Note: Hours and days may vary depending on campus-wide events. Additionally, the intern may be required to bend, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 35 lbs.•
