Job Description:
Title: Calvary Music Youth Intern
Department: Youth Ministry
Reports To: Youth Worship Leaders
Location: Fort Lauderdale Campus
Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Summary:
The Calvary Music Youth (CMY) Intern will assist in the discipleship of youth involved in the CMY program, focusing on their musical and spiritual growth. The intern will support the Youth Worship Leaders in various tasks related to music scheduling, event planning, communication, and leading rehearsals and worship sets. The goal is to equip the next generation of worship leaders with a deeper understanding of the gospel, scripture, prayer, worship, leadership, and God’s love.
Key Responsibilities:
• Disciple CMY Students: Mentor and guide students in their spiritual and musical development.
• Schedule Songs: Plan and organize song selections for worship services.
• Schedule People: Coordinate musicians and vocalists for rehearsals and services.
• Build Planning Center Sets: Utilize Planning Center software to create and manage worship sets.
• Build Ableton Sets: Use Ableton software to create backing tracks and arrangements for worship.
• Plan Extended Worship Sets: Assist in planning longer, more immersive worship experiences.
• Assist in Planning CMY Events: Help organize and execute events specifically for the CMY program.
• Assist in Planning Youth Hangout Nights and other Youth events: Contribute to the planning of broader youth ministry events.
• Assist in Communication to CMY: Help disseminate information and updates to CMY members.
• Onboard New Students to CMY: Welcome and integrate new members into the CMY program.
• Help Identify New Leaders: Recognize and develop potential leaders within the CMY program.
• Lead Rehearsals and Weekend Worship Sets: Take a leading role in directing rehearsals and leading worship during services.
• Ongoing Projects as Assigned: Undertake other tasks and projects as directed by the Youth Worship Leaders.
Learning Goals:
• Develop independence in leading rehearsals and worship services.
• Improve communication skills for teaching biblical truths to students (6th-12th grade).
• Enhance 1-1 discipleship skills.
• Gain proficiency in using Ableton software.
• Learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a youth worship ministry.
• Gain insight into large event planning and execution.
• Develop administrative skills.

Work Schedule:
• Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Intern cohort)
• Saturday: 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM (Rehearsal and Service)
• Sunday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Rehearsal and Service)
• Occasional Friday and Sunday nights for Youth and CMY events
The schedule may vary based on campus-wide events. The role may require physical activity, including bending, sitting, standing, lifting (up to 35 lbs), pulling, and pushing.
