The Tone:
This is a Contract-to-Hire role at TEKsystems, located in Lenoir, NC. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain experience in the data center industry by learning and performing essential cabling tasks, contributing directly to the crucial infrastructure of a large data center project.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $23–$30 hourly
• Team: Reports to lead technicians and supervisors
• Mission: Learn and execute essential cabling and data center tasks to build and maintain critical infrastructure.
• Tech Stack: RJ45 connectors, patch panels, telecom blocks, fiber cable

What You’ll Actually Do
• Learn to pull, dress, and label cabling according to industry best practices.
• Terminate RJ45 connectors and patch panels under experienced guidance.
• Support accurate cable identification and labeling processes.
• Conduct basic punch-downs for telecom blocks and assist with cable testing.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment while strictly following safety protocols.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry Level. Individuals with any physical labor experience (e.g., construction, landscaping, roofing, drywall, stocking).
• Experience: No prior cabling experience is required. Must be willing to work 6 days per week for typical 60-hour work weeks.
• Skills: Dependability, willingness to learn new skills, ability to take direction, strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Bonus: Reliable transportation.
