Job Description: Business Trainee Student
The Business Trainee Student position at Daktronics is designed for college students eager to launch their careers, offering a dynamic learning journey with hands-on experience and valuable insights into various aspects of the business world. The goal of this role is to prepare students for future full-time opportunities within the company, with encouragement to apply for open positions upon graduation.
What the Work Looks Like:
As a Business Trainee Student, you will:
• Be paired with a mentor who will encourage critical thinking, initiative, and the development of a strong foundation in Daktronics’ products, practices, and procedures.
• Embark on a dynamic learning journey, gaining hands-on experience and insights into various business aspects.
• Gain exposure to multiple teams across Daktronics.
• Experience rotation experiences that vary for each student based on individual interests and business needs, with differing durations for each rotation.
Rotation Experiences Include The Following Areas:
• Sales Administration
• Services/Design & Development Administration
• Sales Coordination
• Quote and Order Specialist
• Project Coordination
• Daktronics Sports Marketing
• Training
• Events
Work Schedule:
• Academic Year: Approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week).
• Summer: Up to 40 hours per week.
Location:
• While all responsibilities can be performed remotely, preference is given to candidates residing near the corporate headquarters in Brookings, South Dakota.
• This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.
Pay and Perks:
• Typical Hiring Range: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour based on the Brookings, SD location. Actual offers consider education, experience, location, and applicable local legislation.
• Academic Excellence Reward: Students with a GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed, subject to additional conditions.

Qualifications:
Academic Requirements:
• Preferred Applicant: Registered in at least 12 credits.
• Current Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Consumer Affairs, Economics, Entrepreneurial Studies, or a closely related field.
• Preferred Year: Sophomore or junior year of school.
• GPA: Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable GPA. A minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
• Transcripts: Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with the application.
Other Requirements:
• Work Availability: Approximately 15 hours per week during the academic year (maximum 20 hours) and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Skills & Attributes:
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
• Reliable and capable of working independently while maintaining productivity in a remote environment.
• Eager to learn and contribute to new projects, including the use of unfamiliar software and tools.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities and evolving responsibilities.
• Proficient in general computer use, including accurate keyboarding skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Eligibility:
