Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking talented individuals to join their Business Risk Control and Regulatory Oversight team within the Chief Operating Office (COO) organization. This is a 10-week summer internship program designed to provide undergraduate students with a comprehensive overview of Wells Fargo, its operations, business strategies, and corporate culture.

The program offers five unique pathways for participants to choose from:

Control Management: This pathway focuses on assessing and mitigating operational risk across Wells Fargo. Participants work within Control Management to support one of the 15 Wells Fargo business divisions, engaging in a variety of experiences to build a personalized career path.
Enterprise Complaints and Remediation (ECR): This pathway involves supporting functions that help customers when they have concerns or have been adversely impacted. Participants contribute to addressing customer concerns, assisting customers affected by operational breakdowns, and supporting various specialized teams in delivering executive reporting, strategic communication, monitoring progress toward key objectives, and more.
Regulatory and Policy Affairs (RAPA): This pathway involves working with the team responsible for Wells Fargo Regulatory Relations, the Enterprise Policy Office, Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Governance, and the Office of Consumer Practices. Participants contribute to ensuring a holistic approach to regulatory, policy, and governance activities and coordinate engagements across stakeholders.
Risk Transformation and Execution: This pathway involves working with the company’s primary operational risk and control identification and assessment tool. Participants contribute to demonstrating an understanding of risks and controls, reducing the cost of control, and providing confidence and assurance through change or during periods of stress.
Sales Practices and Conduct Management: This pathway involves working in a front-line operation responsible for investigating possible employee misconduct across Wells Fargo. Participants contribute to analyzing trends, sharing reporting and insights with business partners, and supporting the company in managing conduct-related issues.

Internship Experience:

The summer internship program provides participants with:

Responsibilities:

• Participate in formal internship program initiatives and workshops
• Review assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures, focusing on low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables
• Receive direction from managers in a matrixed environment and exercise independent judgment
• Develop an understanding of compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Program Details:

• Program Date: Summer 2025
• Work Week: 40 hours
• Daily working hours based on business needs
• Locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; New York, NY; Phoenix, AZ; St. Louis, MO

Qualifications:

• Required: 6+ months of work experience (or equivalent)
• Desired:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (expected graduation between December 2025 – May/June 2026)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities (volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad, leadership positions, non-profit work)
• Major in Business Administration, Business Intelligence, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Technology, Communication, Accounting, Mathematics, Analytics, Physics, Political Science, Pre-law, Government, Policy and Management, Computer Science, Management and Risk Management, or related fields. All majors are welcome.
• Knowledge and/or experience in the financial services industry
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in data manipulation, reporting, visualization, and insights

Job Expectations:

• Ability to travel 10% or more of the time
