Job Description: Business Internship
This internship provides graduate students with practical work experience in a non-clinical role within Intermountain Health’s supply chain department. The internship is designed to complement a student’s academic studies and contribute meaningfully to the organization. It’s a temporary position (less than 12 months) and is not eligible for standard employee benefits such as PTO or paid holidays.
Job Details:
• Target Candidate: Graduate students (within the first year of a Master’s program) in business fields such as supply chain, finance, communications, marketing, HR, or legal, from an accredited institution. Education verification is required.
• Scope: The internship is often a required or preferred component of a graduate program. Projects and tasks will align with the student’s area of study and Intermountain’s mission, vision, and values. Each internship requires a business justification demonstrating its value to the department.
• Responsibilities:
• Project Participation: Involvement in various projects supporting departmental needs, working collaboratively with team members to identify solutions and achieve goals. This includes attending meetings, sharing knowledge, and potentially managing individual projects from initiation to completion. Accountability for project outcomes and adherence to timelines are essential.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Working independently and as part of a team, effectively communicating with colleagues, and seeking assistance when necessary.
• Departmental Understanding: Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the department’s functions, potentially through job shadowing various roles.
• Operational Support: Providing general administrative and clerical support as needed.
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduate student (first year of a Master’s program) in a relevant business field.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet applications, email, and scheduling software.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Location: Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah
Schedule: 20 hours per week
Pay: $18.36 – $27.22 per hour (depending on experience)
