Category Manager Intern (TikTok Shop – Operations) – 2026 Summer (MBA) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is an internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, on a mission to inspire creativity and bring joy. This role is crucial for scaling the #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt phenomenon and pioneering Content & Creator commerce in the US. The team aims to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the leading commerce platform of choice. Interns will gain hands-on experience in a rapidly growing tech company, contributing to an innovative, secure, and intuitive e-commerce ecosystem.

• Team: TikTok Shop US operation team, responsible for building the TikTok Ecommerce partnership for the TikTok e-commerce business in the US.
• Mission: Deliver high-quality products and a unique customer experience via TikTok, pioneering Content & Creator commerce.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire: Acquire and incubate merchants to support category growth.
• Innovate: Discover innovative collaborative models that align with merchants’ short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently.
• Collaborate: Solve key challenges in business growth by strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Consult: Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients.
• Inform: Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an MBA Degree, with the intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Experience: Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026, with an internship or full-time background in an e-commerce marketplace business or retail category management.
• Skills: Quick learner, proactive, resilient, structured thinking, good data sense, very strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, and strong cross-team collaboration.
• Bonus: Familiarity with the TikTok content ecosystem, shoppable content, and brand-creator partnerships is a plus.
