Job Description: Business Development Specialist (Volunteer Role)

The Business Development Specialist (BDS) is a competitive, volunteer-based role within Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager. This remote position offers flexibility with occasional in-person events and requires a commitment of 6-12 months, dedicating approximately 5-7 hours per week.

Role Overview:
The BDS team plays a crucial role in fueling EOT’s growth by identifying and engaging with key partners, including sponsors, donors, grantmakers, and brand partners, all of whom must align with the organization’s mission. This opportunity is ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs, fundraisers, marketers, or professionals seeking to enhance their business development skills while contributing to a significant social impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Prospecting & Pipeline Building:
• Conduct thorough research to identify aligned sponsors, foundations, and grant opportunities.
• Develop and manage a robust pipeline of leads in close collaboration with the Business Development Manager (BDM) and the grant team.
• Accurately input and maintain opportunity data in tracking tools such as Airtable and Google Sheets.
Outreach & Relationship Building:
• Draft and personalize effective emails, Letters of Inquiry (LOIs), and sponsorship outreach messages.
• Participate in introductory meetings or presentations as needed, often alongside the President or Fundraising Lead.
• Represent EOT with the utmost professionalism and mission alignment in all communications.
Proposal & Application Support:
• Collaborate with the team on the creation of compelling sponsorship decks, detailed grant narratives, and persuasive pitch materials.
• Support data gathering and storytelling efforts essential for proposal submission.
• Track the status of deliverables diligently and ensure all deadlines are met.
Collaboration & Internal Reporting:
• Attend mandatory weekly check-ins with the Business Development Team.
• Regularly share status updates, report on successes, and communicate challenges via Basecamp or the team dashboard.
• Actively work towards meeting performance benchmarks and contributing to overall team milestones.

Qualifications:
EOT is seeking individuals who are:

• Deeply passionate about EOT’s mission and committed to youth empowerment.
• Equipped with strong communication, excellent research, and proficient writing skills.
Self-starters with an entrepreneurial spirit and the proven ability to work independently.
• Familiar with productivity tools like Google Workspace, Airtable, and CRM systems (comprehensive training will be provided).
• Comfortable with outreach efforts and enthusiastic about building meaningful partnerships.
Experience in fundraising, sales, or business development is preferred but not strictly required.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Business, Marketing, Social Impact, or a related field is also preferred.
