Business Development Representative | Meltwater

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Hybrid (3 days a week in office)
• Location: Hybrid, Bangalore, India
• Team: Collaborates closely with a global BDR team, marketing team, and the Customer Acquisition organization, reporting to the BDR Manager.
• Mission: Drive new leads and qualify opportunities by understanding prospect needs and effectively positioning Meltwater’s services, contributing to the overall success of the business development function.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prospecting & Outreach: Lead proactive outbound prospecting to generate new leads, researching and evaluating prospective opportunities to position Meltwater’s services effectively.
• Discovery & Qualification: Conduct initial meetings to develop a comprehensive understanding of opportunities, prospect needs, and potential solutions, then qualify leads based on their situation and pain points for alignment with business objectives.
• CRM Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospecting data in the CRM system for efficient tracking and reporting, and monitor, track, and report on lead generation metrics to evaluate performance.
• Sales Support: Secure and schedule meetings and demos for the quota-carrying sales team, ensuring a seamless handover of qualified opportunities to the Customer Acquisition organization.
• Strategic Collaboration: Proactively respond to inbound leads and collaborate closely with the marketing team to optimize lead generation strategies, aligning messaging with ongoing campaigns.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred. This role is suited for individuals ready to dive into Business Development, bringing academic prowess to a foundational career stage.
• Experience: Proven experience in outbound prospecting and lead generation is required. Experience working with prospects in the SEA region (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines) is highly desired.
• Skills: Strong communication skills for conducting effective initial meetings and lead qualification, excellent organizational skills including CRM management and accurate data tracking, and a collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams.
• Bonus: A keen interest in learning, adaptability, and resilience within a work environment, coupled with excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
