Business Development Manager | Skipper AI

The Tone:
This is a part-time role at Skipper AI, located remotely. Skipper AI is an AI consulting firm that helps businesses navigate the transition to intelligent, automated operations by specializing in AI strategy, software rollout, and project management. This role is crucial for the firm’s growth, as the Business Development Manager will play a direct part in building a pipeline of enterprise and mid-size prospects and managing early-stage client communications to drive measurable results.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Research: Research target accounts and decision-makers, identify effective outreach angles, track contact records in the company CRM, and surface new companies that fit the target profile as the pipeline evolves.
• Client Outreach: Draft and send personalized outreach via email and LinkedIn, manage follow-up sequences, handle early-stage prospect communications, and coordinate discovery calls with leadership.
• Strategy & Collaboration: Join regular check-ins, contribute a prepared point of view on target accounts and entry strategies, and help shape positioning for specific client types.
• Network Building: Represent Skipper AI professionally in all external communications and flag relevant events, communities, or platforms where the firm should have a presence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Career level: Manager. Core domain knowledge in B2B sales, client relationship management, and operations within an AI consulting environment.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience being organized across multiple accounts and follow-ups simultaneously, operating in a self-directed and accountable manner, and quickly learning new tools and adapting to shifting priorities. A track record of starting and finishing projects without being assigned to is highly valued.
• Skills: Strong written communication, comfort in reaching out to executives directly, organizational aptitude, self-direction, accountability, and quick learning ability with new tools (Jira, Confluence, CRM).
• Bonus: Completed a self-directed project outside of school or work, some experience with software or technical tools, interest in AI, enterprise software, or B2B sales, prior CRM or collaboration platform experience, or existing professional networks.
