The Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) division focuses on the latter, managing relationships with millions of merchants worldwide and overseeing the company’s payment network and global bank partnerships. Job Description: Business Development Intern (New York, NY)

This internship offers the chance to contribute to a team focused on making American Express an indispensable payment partner for merchants. The role is specifically within the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) division. Interns will work on partner and customer-facing projects aligned with company strategic goals, contributing to key initiatives within an award-winning culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a thorough understanding of the merchant and network business and its needs.
• Conduct research on the competitive landscape and perform data analysis to enhance performance and drive growth.
• Develop innovative approaches to prospect for new customers and improve the customer experience.
• Assist in leading external partnerships to uncover new opportunities and expand the business.
• Build relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the design and execution of strategic initiatives, developing and implementing tests to measure effectiveness.
• Create executive presentations on strategic topics for senior management and/or partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program.
• Graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

Salary: $24.05 to $63.00 hourly + sign-on bonus (depending on location, experience, and other factors). Employment eligibility to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship.
