Job Description, Detailed
This is an exciting summer internship opportunity within the Business Development Department at BHE GT&S Headquarters in Glen Allen, VA. It is designed for students seeking hands-on Business Development and Marketing experience.
Key Responsibilities and Work:
As an intern, you will gain experience in various areas related to the natural gas pipeline and associated businesses. Your work with Market Development Representatives will include:
• Identifying and researching potential expansions and new service opportunities within the natural gas pipelines’ business.
• Customer research and ad hoc requests to vet each project’s potential.
• Supporting the development of projects relating to low carbon fuel options, such as Hydrogen and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG).
• Performing market research and data analysis.
• Developing visualization tools that inform business decisions.
• Introduction to tools that help understand potential growth opportunities and how to build a business case for them.
• Utilization and development of visual tools to create reporting, dashboards, and intuitive map views.
• Exposure to multiple energy projects, customer meetings, and access to energy leaders.
• Gaining an understanding of energy pricing locational hubs and then learning to build reports based on this acquired knowledge.
• You may also perform other job duties as requested or assigned, considering your interests and business priorities.

Educational Requirements:
• Must be a full-time student attending a 4-year university.
• Majoring in Economics, Business, Marketing, or a similar program.
• Specifically looking for a rising sophomore or junior prior to the summer of 2025. (Note: An earlier section mentions “rising junior or rising senior prior to summer of 2024,” but the specific internship description states “rising sophomore or junior” for this role).
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 (3.0 preferred).
Logistics:
• This summer internship will be a minimum of 8 weeks on site (June 1 – July 24).
• An independent source of transportation is needed, as there are limited public transportation options in the area.
• Successful candidates who are 50 miles or more from the assigned work location may be eligible for a one-time housing stipend.
