Job Description:

This 10-week internship program within the Morgan Stanley Internal Audit Department provides aspiring professionals with a comprehensive experience in internal audit. Summer Analysts will gain exposure to various functions across Internal Audit and different coverage areas within the firm, including compliance and equities.

Training Program:

Internal Audit Fundamentals: Training on core internal audit principles and Morgan Stanley’s audit methodology.
Senior Leadership Engagement: Opportunities to connect with senior leaders within the department.
Cross-Divisional Networking: Networking events to build relationships with colleagues across different teams.
Peer Mentorship: Guidance and support from experienced professionals.
Community Service: Opportunities to give back to the community.
Group Project: Summer Analysts will work together on a group project and present their findings to a wider audience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop a working knowledge of business principles and basic auditing standards.
Execute a wide range of assurance activities (audits, continuous monitoring, closure verification) under guidance.
Produce quality work in accordance with team/department priorities and deliverables (documenting narratives, executing control testing, and communicating results to management).
Develop knowledge of tools and audit techniques.
Contribute to messaging regarding risk and business impact within the relevant coverage area.
Collaborate with colleagues across the team.

Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific coverage area.

Qualifications and Skills:

Graduates between December 2025 and June 2026 with less than one year of full-time professional experience.
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (accounting, business management, finance, or a related degree preferred but not mandatory).
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Demonstrates critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Communicates verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
Effectively collaborates with others and adapts to a dynamic environment.
Pays attention to detail and quality.
Practices inclusive behaviors.
Seeks guidance and solicits feedback for self-development.

Compensation:

The expected base pay rate for the role is $29.81 per hour at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package. The package may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
