About the Job: Broadcast Production Intern
This is an internship opportunity for individuals passionate about broadcast production and sports, specifically NBA and NHL. The role offers a rare opportunity to observe the inner workings of professional sports broadcasting.
Job Summary & Purpose:
The Broadcast Production Intern will join the creative team for the Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth. Interns will aid the company in broadcast production and related tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a professional sports environment. The role is crucial in ensuring television and radio broadcasts effectively capture a key audience via social media.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist producers and managers with daily operational tasks.
• Learn and apply video editing skills and asset management.
• Aid in all areas of production, including live broadcast tasks and video shoots.
• Provide general administrative assistance and support.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Collaborate with the SEG Media content team to promote broadcasts through social media and provide content for them.
• Transcribe interviews.
• Participate in digital asset management.
• Contribute to video editing.
• Help with video shoots.
• Embody SEG’s mission and values (transparent, all in, community obsessed, one team, scrappy).
• Operate with an emphasis on safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies & Skills:
• Video Editing (proficiency with software like Adobe Premiere Pro is essential).
• Photoshop skills.
• Reliability & Trustworthiness.
• Effective Time Management.
• Understanding of Social Media Trends.
Qualifications:
• Must be an Undergraduate Junior, Senior, or recent graduate.
• Currently studying, or have studied, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
• A strong interest in NBA and/or NHL is preferred.
• Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays is required due to broadcast schedules.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• An editing demo reel or website of previous work is required to be attached with the application.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to:
• Communicate and express oneself both written and verbally.
• Observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
• Sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
• Lift 20 lbs.
