About the Job: Broadcast Production Intern
This is an internship opportunity for individuals with a passion for broadcast production and sports, specifically NBA and NHL. It offers a rare chance to gain inner workings insight into professional sports broadcasting.
Job Summary:
The Broadcast Production Intern will aid the company in various production tasks related to NBA and NHL broadcasts. This role involves both creative and administrative support, with a strong emphasis on leveraging social media to engage audiences.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Production Assistance: Assist producers and managers with daily tasks, aiding in all areas of production. This may include transcribing interviews, video editing, digital asset management, and assisting with video shoots.
• Live Broadcast Support: Perform live broadcast tasks.
• Content Creation & Management: Learn and apply video editing skills and asset management techniques.
• Social Media Integration: Work collaboratively with the SEG Media content team and social media teams to promote broadcasts and provide them with relevant content, ensuring broadcasts capture a key audience via social media.
• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance and support.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Safety Adherence: Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests.
• Adherence to Values: Exemplify the SEG mission and values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies & Skills:
• Video Editing: Proficiency in software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Graphic Design: Proficiency in Photoshop.
• Professionalism: Demonstrated reliability & trustworthiness.
• Organization: Strong time management skills.
• Digital Savvy: Awareness of social media trends.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be an Undergraduate Junior, Senior, or a recent graduate studying Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field.
• Interest: A preferred interest in NBA and/or NHL.
• Availability: Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays is essential.
• Experience: Previous internship experience is preferred but not strictly required.
• Portfolio: An editing demo reel is required to be attached with the application.
Physical Demands:
The role requires various physical abilities, including:
• Communication: Ability to communicate and express oneself both written and verbally.
• Observation: Ability to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
• Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
