About the Company:

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute. Its mission is to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. The organization works to hold political institutions and laws accountable to the ideals of democracy and equal justice for all. The Brennan Center’s work encompasses voting rights, campaign finance reform, ending mass incarceration, and preserving Constitutional protections in national security policies. They combine rigorous research, innovative policies, and advocacy in Congress, the states, the courts, and the public sphere.

Job Description:

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking interns to join their Communications department on the Brennan en Español (BEE) team. This is an in-person internship at their New York office.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with general research and administrative work, including coordinating meetings and drafting correspondence.
• Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations on program work.
Specific responsibilities for the BEE department include:
• Helping the BEE team with research for different projects, including the newsletter.
• Writing social media messaging and assisting with social media posting.
• Contributing to videos for social media platforms, including writing scripts, and editing and recording videos.
• Monitoring coverage in the Spanish-language and Latino press, and announcements and events by Latino organizations.

Qualifications:

• Independent self-starter; detail-oriented; energetic; punctual; and highly organized.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Passion for the Brennan Center’s issues.
• Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Database experience is helpful.
• Open to evolving responsibilities.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
• Experience on-camera is a plus but not required.
• Open to evolving responsibilities.
Must be a current undergraduate student.

Details:

Hours: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week
Pay: $17.50 per hour
Duration: September – December 2025
