Bookkeeper | Town and Country Animal Hospital Miami
The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper role based at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Miami, FL. The hospital has been a pillar in the community, caring for pets and their families since the mid-1990s, and is focused on continued growth and expansion, providing high-quality veterinary medicine for both routine wellness visits and emergency care. As pet owners themselves, the doctors and staff prioritize excellent medical care and outstanding client service in a welcoming, compassionate, and friendly environment. In this role, you will manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping, ensuring accuracy and supporting hospital leadership with essential budgeting, cash flow tracking, and financial compliance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Recordkeeping: Manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping, including recording transactions and maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Account Management: Prepare and post journal entries, and reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular schedule.
• Transaction Processing: Use accounting software to process invoices, payments, and payroll-related data efficiently.
• Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports for management and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
• Financial Support: Monitor accounts payable and receivable, and collaborate with hospital leadership to support budgeting, cash flow tracking, and compliance with financial policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Foundational skills in Bookkeeping and Finance, including experience managing daily transaction recording and account balances.
• Experience: Proficiency with Accounting Software for invoicing, payroll, reporting, and general ledger maintenance. Demonstrated experience creating and posting accurate Journal Entries and reconciling accounts on a regular schedule.
• Skills: Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, managers, and support staff.
• Bonus: An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small business, healthcare, or veterinary setting.
