The Role: Bookkeeper
The Bookkeeper at Harbor Compliance is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate transactions within the accounting system. This critical role drives both the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions. Strong QuickBooks Online and Excel skills, along with process improvement experience, are highly preferred. Fluency in English is essential for managing client billing inquiries and cross-functional collaboration. While French fluency is preferred, it is not required, as a French translator tool will be made available for non-French-speaking candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Receivable (AR):
- Invoicing clients and accurately applying payments.
- Replying to customers’ inquiries in French or English as related to billing.
- Coordinating with the internal team to ensure work billed and paid for is performed timely.
- Updating appropriate tracker documents timely and accurately.
- Account Payable (AP):
- Entering A/P invoices into the accounting system.
- Ensuring payments are made on time and accurately.
- Process Improvement:
- Implement at least two measurable process improvements every six months to enhance automation, standardization, and reporting speed.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This role is in-office, 5 days/week.
- Standard working hours are 9am to 5pm.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong technical proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Access Database.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Desire to learn and work within a team environment.
- Commitment to operational excellence through the regular creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Fluent in English (Required).
- Fluent in French (Preferred but not required).
Compensation & Benefits
Harbor Compliance’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $60,000 – $70,000 USD. Compensation at the time of offer is based on factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location.
