Job Description: Body Shop / Collision Repair Apprentice

The Body Shop / Collision Repair Apprentice position at Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to begin a career in heavy-duty truck body repair.

Job Overview:
The primary role of the Apprentice is to perform light body work under close supervision, serving as the first stage of training for Bodyman status.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
• Performs body type work under direct supervision.
• Assists experienced bodymen with heavy-duty truck body repair tasks.
• Actively attends training sessions to gain essential knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Maintains a clean and organized working area.
• Properly handles and cares for company tools and equipment.
• Carries out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Safety-Sensitive Designation:
This position is designated as safety-sensitive. This means that performing the job duties while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug could pose a threat to health or safety. A lapse of attention in this role has the potential to result in injury, illness, or death, particularly as the duties involve operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles, and/or handling hazardous materials and waste.

Qualifications:
• A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred, indicating an advantage for applicants who possess one.
• Must possess good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Requires the ability to listen attentively and work collaboratively with others, which is crucial for learning proper repair techniques.
• A positive “can-do” attitude is essential.
• Candidates must have the necessary tools required to perform the responsibilities of the position.
