About the Job
Sanford Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Practicum Student to join its team at the East Grand Forks Clinic in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The Behavioral Health Practicum Student will work under the supervision of a clinical supervisor or admitting provider to provide assessment, treatment, and support to patients with mental health and behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess patient needs and develop treatment plans
• Implement treatment interventions specific to patient needs
• Continually assess patients’ progress and revise treatment plans accordingly
• Document treatment sessions and provide patient progress updates to interdisciplinary team
• Educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions
• Refer for additional clinical services or to specialists, as needed
• Stay current on emerging issues in the profession
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a qualified college or university pursuing a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the area of social work, psychology, counseling, or with permission, another degree in a behavioral health science
• No experience required, but preference given to individuals with work experience in the delivery of services to persons with: mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities
