This is a Part-Time Barista position located in Scottsdale, AZ. The salary is Competitive.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Barista is a Front of House team member responsible for superior customer satisfaction through drink accuracy and efficiency, while upholding the company’s core values. They are expected to be a role model for the company culture, delivering exceptional drinks and service in a clean, friendly, and safe environment.
The Barista reports to the Shift Leader (SL) and General Manager (GM) and is accountable for executing their policies and procedures. Successful completion of General Team Member and Barista Training Certifications is required. Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with customers, vendors, and leadership. Maintaining professional dress, speech, and behavior is mandatory at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Superior customer service through fast, efficient, accurate, and proper drink production to company standards.
• Continuously test drink products for taste, appearance, and consistency to align with company drink standards.
• Clean and maintain the barista station regularly, including proper maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Superior knowledge of entire drink menu, ingredients, modifications, allergens, and upcharge costs.
• Educate and inform customers about coffee beans, drinks, and other menu items.
• Support the Front of House team by greeting customers, guiding them through the menu, and processing orders efficiently with a positive attitude.
• Complete position Primary and Secondary Responsibilities as well as Daily Duties at a superior level.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during high-volume periods to keep the store operating to standard.
• At times, field inside, drive-thru, and phone orders.
• At times, operate a Point of Sale (POS) system.
• At times, perform work of other team members as needed.
• Follow proper cash handling procedures at all times.
• Address customer complaints and report them to the SL and/or GM.
• Maintain confidentiality of company passwords and intellectual property.
• Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude, professional conduct, and appearance.
• Use, implement, and adhere to all company policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
• Regular and predictable attendance: Working hours range from Sunday – Saturday from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours.
Requirements:
• 18+ years of age.
• High school graduate.
• Prefer prior customer service experience.
• Prefer prior Barista experience, but it is not required.
• Dependable, honest, trustworthy, and possesses integrity.
• Positive attitude and great personal drive.
• Courteous and enthusiastic.
• Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced sales environment.
• Exceptional communication and guest service skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Prefer proficiency on Aloha POS, but it is not required.
• Prefer ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.
• Successful completion of General Team Member Training Certification.
• Successful completion of Barista Training Certification.
• Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of the company’s products and procedures.
• Availability to work on weekends.
• Reliable transportation.
