About The Role
Ramp is fundamentally an engineering company, driven by the mission to build one of the best engineering teams in the U.S. We are actively seeking backend engineering interns for 12 or 16-week programs. We’re looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about contributing to our journey and helping to cultivate a diverse and dynamic tech community. We value engineers with a broad range of technical skills, strong cross-functional abilities, and eagerness to tackle diverse engineering challenges. Our ideal candidate demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, enjoying projects from their initial concept through to scaling in production. We appreciate individuals who take pride in their work and exhibit a rapid learning aptitude, regardless of their prior familiarity with our specific tech stack. As an intern, you will collaborate with a nimble team of dedicated and talented engineers, making a significant, long-term impact on both technical design and engineering culture.
What You’ll Do
- Build performant and scalable platforms and services that power Ramp’s innovative products.
- Contribute to Ramp’s financial products platform (including Risk, Fraud, and Treasury Management) and/or our savings and web-app platform (such as Savings Insights and Receipt Matching).
- Work closely with product and business teams to gather customer feedback and continuously enhance our product offering.
- Help establish and influence engineering processes, tools, and systems to facilitate the scaling of our codebase, productivity, and team.
What You’ll Need
- Currently pursuing a B.S. (or higher) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 – 2028.
- A track record of shipping high-quality products and features, or a compelling portfolio of side projects.
- The ability to translate business and product ideas into effective engineering solutions.
- A strong desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment, continuously grow, and master your craft.
- Alignment with Ramp’s core values: enabling businesses to grow more by spending less.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn our tech stack, which includes (but isn’t limited to): Flask, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, Celery, Temporal, Elixir, AWS, RabbitMQ.
- Experience with or an interest in Python.
- A passion for, or curiosity to learn about, financial technology.
Compensation
- The monthly rate for this internship is $11,700 USD + housing stipend.
