Job Description: Backend Engineer
Pinterest seeks inquisitive, well-rounded Backend Engineers to join its Core and Monetization engineering teams. Working alongside product managers, designers, and other engineers, successful candidates will play a key role in developing new technologies and experiences. Responsibilities include:
• Building backend systems: Developing the backend for user-facing features to drive Pinterest’s future.
• Full product lifecycle participation: Contributing to and leading all stages of product development, from initial ideas and prototyping through A/B testing, architecture, scalable development, and release. This includes building solutions that can support millions of users.
• Collaboration: Partnering with design, product, and backend teams to create complete functionality.
• Innovation: Proposing new product ideas and features.
• Quality assurance: Utilizing automated testing to ensure high-quality features. Taking ownership of developed components and features.
• Continuous growth: Expanding engineering skills through collaboration with experienced peers on impactful projects.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of backend development experience in building consumer or business-facing products.
• Proficiency in common backend technologies for RESTful APIs, storage, caching, and data processing.
• Experience with best practices for writing reliable and maintainable code.
• Ability to stay current with emerging technologies.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• The salary range is $118,938—$244,872 USD (US-based applicants only). Equity is also offered. Final salary depends on factors like location, travel, experience, and skills.
