In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive review and in-depth analysis of pilot reports and a wide range of aviation event data. Your contributions will directly enhance aviation safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

While this position offers the flexibility of a remote-first work arrangement, candidates must be localized within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This localization is essential for occasional in-person team collaborations, training sessions, or specific local project requirements, ensuring a strong connection to our operational hub.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of pilot reports, air traffic control communications, maintenance logs, flight data recordings, and other relevant aviation event data sources.
  • Identify critical trends, recurring patterns, anomalies, and potential safety hazards within large, complex datasets.
  • Validate the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of aviation data, escalating discrepancies for further investigation or correction.
  • Develop and generate clear, concise, and actionable reports, summaries, and presentations detailing findings for stakeholders including safety committees, operational management, and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., safety management, operations, engineering, quality assurance) to provide data-driven insights and support incident prevention strategies.
  • Stay current with evolving aviation regulations, industry best practices, and advancements in data analysis techniques and safety management systems.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection, processing, visualization, and analysis methodologies to enhance our safety intelligence capabilities.
  • Assist in the development of predictive models and early warning indicators based on analyzed data.

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundational knowledge of aviation operations, regulations (e.g., ICAO, Transport Canada), and terminology. Previous experience as a pilot, air traffic controller, aircraft maintenance engineer, aviation safety officer, or a related operational role is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting, preferably within a safety-critical industry or complex regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an unwavering attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R for data manipulation/analysis, Business Intelligence platforms like Tableau/Power BI).
  • Ability to interpret complex technical and operational information and translate it into understandable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting detailed reports, presenting findings, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
  • Must be currently localized within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and possess the ability to commute to designated locations within the GTA for required in-person meetings or events.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a direct and significant impact on aviation safety and operational excellence.
  • Enjoy the flexibility and autonomy of a remote-first work model.
  • Work with fascinating and critical aviation event data at the forefront of safety analysis.
