Job Title: AV Tech
About the Role:
As an AV Tech, you will be an integral part of our IT Team, playing a crucial role in ensuring seamless audio-visual experiences for all events and meetings. You will assist the IT Manager with the setup, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all AV equipment and systems, ensuring optimal functionality and support for our diverse programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the IT Manager with comprehensive equipment setup and installation for various events and meetings.
- Troubleshoot and repair AV equipment as needed to ensure continuous functionality.
- Support the maintenance of all AV equipment and systems.
- Ensure all AV equipment is properly labeled, stored, and meticulously documented.
- Provide technical support for AV equipment and systems throughout events and meetings.
- Stay up-to-date on new AV technology and equipment trends.
Work Environment & Travel:
- Hours: 30-40 hours/week
- Location: Primarily at our Chapel Hill office, with regular travel to Durham venues for teacher orientations.
- Travel Requirement: This role includes a significant travel component, with three weeks in Washington D.C. required for specific events, and potential travel to Virginia for orientations (referred to as “OT weeks”).
What You’ll Bring (Required Skills & Experience):
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Audio Visual Technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AV equipment and systems.
- Proven strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with video conferencing software and hardware is a definite plus.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Availability for all required travel weeks for orientations (including Washington D.C. and Virginia) is essential.
