JOB SUMMARY:
To support all new automation manufacturing technology projects, automation continuous improvement efforts, and implement best automation methods and standardization processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Engineering and Tool Engineering on automation solutions and build-plan methodology for new programs; Gives input/feedback on associated design criteria.
- Identifies, justifies, and implements new technology and manufacturing techniques to improve safety/ergonomics, reduce manufacturing cost (labor, material, inventory, scrap), and improve product/process quality.
- Design, build, implement and provide production support for all automation systems used in manufacturing.
- Supports cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of automated systems in support of manufacturing.
- Provide process capability specifications for new technology.
- Analyzes/interprets engineering drawing, manufacturing operation sequence, tooling function, and process specifications and issues engineering change requests (ECR) to improve or eliminate manufacturing issues in sustaining production operations as related to automation.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Technology Engineering, or other relative technical field.

Important Information for Applicants:
- Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application.

- Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August, lasting 10 weeks.
- Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
