This is a job posting for an Audit Winter 2026 Internship located in Chicago, IL.

Job Title: Audit Winter 2026 Internship
Location: Chicago, IL
Internship Duration: January to March 2026
Work Model: Hybrid. Team members are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week, with the specific cadence determined at the team level.
Team Structure: Interns will work closely with a diverse engagement team comprising other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
Industries Served: Interns may gain exposure to a variety of clients across industries such as Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (industry exposure may vary by office).
Support System:
Performance Coach: Will assist with goal setting, feedback, and career guidance.
CR Friend: Provides a familiar face and a point of contact for support.
Role Responsibilities: As an Audit Winter Intern, your primary role will be to become familiar with accounting and auditing procedures and perform them accurately, thoroughly, and timely, in accordance with firm standards. Key responsibilities include:
• Working on all aspects of an audit engagement, including cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, searching for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs, and preparing audit work papers.
• Assisting with audits, reviews, compilations, and other accounting services.
• Participating in resolving audit issues by obtaining evidence and making client inquiries, while supporting the team with daily client workflow.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Education: Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
CPA Path: Must plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2026 and September 2027 to be eligible for CPA licensure.
GPA: A minimum 3.0 GPA in both your major and overall is required.
Coursework: Successful completion of two accounting courses prior to the start of the internship.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or team projects.
Skills:
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Work Authorization: CohnReznick does not offer sponsorship for Entry Level Roles (including internships). Successful candidates must provide proof of work authorization such as U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency status.
Preferred: Prior work or internship experience is a plus.
Compensation: The salary for an Audit Intern in Illinois is $33 per hour. This is part of CohnReznick’s comprehensive total rewards package, which also includes access to learning and development platforms.
