Job Description: Audit Winter 2026 Internship – Bethesda, MD
This is an exciting Audit Winter 2026 Internship opportunity located in Bethesda, MD. The internship period is from January to March 2026, with the exact end date potentially varying by office/team.
Work Model:
CohnReznick operates as a hybrid firm. Interns are expected to be within commutable distance to the Bethesda office. The position requires team members to be thoughtful and intentional about in-person collaboration, with professionals encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week, though the specific cadence is determined at the team level.
Your Team & Support:
• Engagement Team: Interns will work closely with a diverse team including other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Industries: The Bethesda office serves a variety of clients across multiple industries, which may include Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services.
• Office Environment: The CohnReznick office provides amenities and collaborative spaces.
• Performance Coach: Each intern will have a Performance Coach who will help establish goals, provide feedback, and offer support to guide their career path.
• CR Friend: A “CR Friend” will serve as a familiar face, providing an initial point of contact and support for new interns.
Your Role as an Audit Winter Intern:
As an Audit Winter Intern, your primary responsibility will be to become familiar with accounting and auditing procedures and to perform these procedures accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner in accordance with firm standards.
Key Responsibilities Include (But Not Limited To):
• Working on various aspects of an audit engagement, which includes handling cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, searching for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs, and preparing audit work papers.
• Assisting with audits, reviews, compilations, and other accounting services.
• Participating in resolving audit issues by gathering evidence and making inquiries of clients, while also supporting the team with daily client workflow tasks.
Your Experience (Required Qualifications):

Successful candidates will possess:
• Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• A plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2026 and September 2027 to qualify for CPA licensure.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA in both their major and overall coursework.
• Successful completion of at least two accounting courses prior to the start of the internship.
• Demonstrated leadership positions in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or on team projects.
• Prior work or internship experience is a plus but not strictly required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
• A capacity to learn effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Compensation:
The salary for an Audit Internship in Maryland is $34 per hour. This is part of CohnReznick’s comprehensive total rewards package, which also includes access to best-in-class learning and development platforms.
