This exciting career opportunity is available in the San Diego office for Summer 2027 (June-August). We are actively seeking Audit Summer Interns to join the team!

Work Model: Hybrid

CohnReznick operates as a hybrid firm, with most professionals located within a commutable distance to one of its offices. This position is considered hybrid, emphasizing thoughtful and intentional in-person collaboration. While the specific in-office cadence is team-determined, professionals are encouraged to be in the office or together in person on average 3 days a week.

Your Team:

  • Engagement Team: You will collaborate closely with a team comprising other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
  • Industries: The firm serves a diverse range of clients across various industries, including: Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (industry focus may vary by office).
  • Office: The CohnReznick office offers amenities and collaborative spaces designed to foster productivity and teamwork.
  • Performance Coach: A dedicated Performance Coach will meet with you to establish goals, provide constructive feedback, and offer support to guide you along your chosen career path. Many current Senior Managers and Partners began their careers at CR as Associates.
  • CR Friend: A “CR Friend” will serve as a familiar face, providing a welcoming point of contact and someone you can always reach out to for support as you join the firm.

Your Role (Responsibilities):

As an Audit Summer Intern, you will be responsible for familiarizing yourself with accounting and auditing procedures and performing these procedures in accordance with firm standards, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Work on various aspects of an audit engagement, including: cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, searching for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs, and preparing audit work papers.
  • Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and other accounting services.
  • Contribute to resolving audit issues by obtaining necessary evidence and making inquiries of clients, while supporting the team with daily client workflow.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA Eligibility: Plan to complete 150 credit hours between May 2028 – September 2029 to be eligible for CPA licensure.
  • GPA Requirement: A minimum 3.0 GPA in both your major and overall academic performance.
  • Coursework: Successful completion of two accounting courses prior to the start of your internship.
  • Leadership/Experience: Held leadership positions in student organizations, extracurricular activities, and/or on team projects.
  • Work Experience: Prior work or internship experience is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability: Able to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Possess strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Work Authorization: CohnReznick does not offer sponsorship to foreign nationals for Entry Level Roles (new associates and interns). Successful candidates must provide proof of work authorization such as U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency status.

Salary:
