The Tone:
This is a paid internship at UMB Bank. UMB Bank is a financial services institution providing various banking and investment services. This role is crucial for the Alternative Investments Audit Team, which provides audit preparation services for alternative investment fund clients. By taking on the demanding work of annual audits, this position directly enables Fund Accountants to focus more effectively on client needs and ensures the smooth operation of financial reporting processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Preparation: Operate Excel and UMB accounting systems to pull in and summarize exports for client financial statements.
• Data Reconciliation: Reconcile and clean up data in preparation for audited financial statements.
• Collaboration: Partner with the Fund Accounting team and other peers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and client satisfaction.
• Audit Support: Handle all tasks related to the annual audit of the financial reporting process.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Completed at least two years in an undergraduate program in a business-related field.
• Experience: No prior professional experience explicitly required; demonstrated academic progression in a business-related field is essential.
• Skills: Strong communication; Review skills; Proficiency in Excel; Familiarity with UMB accounting systems; Desire to learn more in audit and accounting.
