As an Audit Japanese Business Network Intern, you will operate within our Assurance practice, contributing directly to the transparency and integrity of financial reporting for diverse clients. • Mission: Support the delivery of financial statement audits for Japanese business clients, contributing to the transparency and integrity of financial reporting and the application of PwC’s methodologies.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Audit Support: Support audit teams in conducting comprehensive financial statement audits specifically for Japanese business clients.
• Document Verification: Participate in the thorough review and verification of financial documents to confirm accuracy and ensure full compliance with established accounting standards.
• Accounting Standards Application: Assist actively in the practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) throughout various audit processes.
• Data Analysis: Engage in detailed data analysis and interpretation activities to effectively identify significant financial trends and derive actionable insights for clients.
• Audit Documentation: Contribute diligently to the meticulous documentation of all audit processes and findings, crucial for maintaining transparency and integrity across all engagements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level candidate currently pursuing or having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Candidates are typically in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application.
• Experience: Must meet all educational requirements necessary to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in the intended state of employment prior to commencing full-time work at PwC.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate with business-level fluency in Japanese and English, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking; an overall GPA of at least 3.0.
• Bonus: Preference for an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher; a demonstrated ability to leverage AI to create efficiencies, innovate ways of working, and deliver distinctive outcomes; established knowledge of Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards; practical experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in audits; proficiency in utilizing data analysis and interpretation for financial insights; engagement in external audit processes and methodologies.
