Capital Markets Audit Intern | Carr, Riggs & Ingram

The Tone:
This is an internship at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Carr, Riggs & Ingram is a nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm known for its audit, tax, and business consulting expertise. The Capital Markets Audit Intern will work with the firm’s national Capital Markets Group, which serves publicly traded companies and those preparing to access capital markets. This role is crucial for gaining hands-on experience by directly supporting active client engagements related to public company audits and SEC compliance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Audits: Perform financial statement audit procedures.
• Testing & Documentation: Test account balances, transactions, and internal controls, and prepare audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Client Collaboration: Participate in client meetings and walkthroughs, and collaborate with engagement teams to address accounting and reporting matters.
• Analysis & Research: Perform analytical procedures, conduct financial statement analyses, and research accounting and auditing guidance.
• Engagement Support: Support engagements throughout the planning, fieldwork, and completion phases.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: Completion of introductory and intermediate accounting coursework preferred.
• Skills: Strong academic performance; intention to pursue CPA licensure upon meeting eligibility requirements.
• Bonus: Leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, employment, volunteer activities, or other campus involvement is a plus.
