Job Description: Audit Intern – Summer 2026
This internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in the audit field within the nonprofit sector. Essential functions of the role include:
• Performing substantive auditing procedures in assigned areas.
• Understanding the scope and purpose of assigned audit work.
• Preparing detailed working papers documenting tests performed and procedures followed, supporting conclusions reached.
• Identifying and documenting control deficiencies or other matters requiring management attention.
• Ensuring proper and consistent application of accounting principles throughout audit procedures.
Qualifications for the internship include:
• Completion of at least two years of university education by the internship start date.
• Active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness and ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• High degree of discretion in handling confidential information.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available).
The base pay range for this internship in California, New York, Colorado, and Illinois is $25.00 – $30.00 per hour.
