The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Auditing: Perform substantive auditing procedures in assigned areas of work.
• Understanding: Obtain an understanding of the work to be performed and its specific purpose.
• Documentation: Prepare working papers that adequately document the tests performed and procedures followed.
• Compliance: Be alert to the proper and consistent application of accounting principles during audit procedures.
• Reporting: Identify and document control deficiencies or other matters that require management’s attention.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting with two or more years of university education completed by the internship start.
• Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office software including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Skills: Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, ability to work as a team, and a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
