The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at PwC, located in Melville, NY. PwC is a global professional services firm that provides independent and objective assessments, helping clients maintain transparency and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to observe and participate in the audit process, enhancing your understanding of financial reporting and decision-making. As an Intern, you will support teams by performing basic tasks and conducting research, while learning and applying PwC’s methodologies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Support audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and gaining exposure to auditing methodologies.
• Document Verification: Participate in the review and verification of financial documents to uphold transparency and compliance with accounting standards.
• Data Analysis: Assist in the analysis and interpretation of financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Process Documentation: Engage in the documentation of audit processes and findings to maintain organized and consistent records.
• Standard Application: Learn and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) in audit tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; considered an entry-level role, typically for candidates in their third or fourth year of a degree program.
• Experience: Meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment before starting full-time at PwC.
• Skills: At least a 3.0 overall GPA; ability to utilize data analysis skills to support the audit process.
• Bonus: Preference for a 3.5 overall GPA; demonstrating knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); applying auditing methodologies in financial statement audits; utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills for financial trends; participating in external audit processes and internal controls; supporting teams with accounting and financial reporting standards; leveraging AI to create efficiencies.
