Assurance Intern – Winter 2028 | RSM US LLP
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at RSM US LLP, which is a leading provider of professional services to the middle market globally. This role is key to the firm’s ability to be compelling to clients, as interns learn to contribute to assurance services, helping clients maintain confidence in their financial reporting.

• Mission: To support audit processes by assessing client risks, evaluating controls, and performing tests to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Understanding: Understand clients’ needs, expectations, business, industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Audit Process: Develop an understanding of RSM’s audit approach and tools.
• Risk Assessment: Assess client risks and evaluate their internal control structure.
• Testing Procedures: Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Financial Reporting: Draft financial statements according to prescribed formats.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent from an accredited university, with at least 90 credit hours completed.
• Experience: Ability to travel to assigned client locations and arrange for use of reliable transportation.
• Skills: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) relevant to industry standards.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ability to work effectively on a team, and ability to multitask.
