About the Job: Audit Intern
At PwC, our people in audit and assurance focus on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information. This work is crucial for enhancing the credibility and reliability of financial data for a variety of stakeholders. We evaluate compliance with regulations, including assessing governance and risk management processes and related controls. In financial statement audit, your primary focus will be on obtaining reasonable assurance that financial statements are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor’s report that includes the auditor’s opinion.

The Opportunity: As an Audit Intern
As an Audit Intern, you will engage in the dynamic world of financial statement audits, gaining exposure to the intricacies of auditing and assurance. You will support client teams by participating in various projects, learning to apply accounting policies and financial reporting standards. This role is primarily focused on learning and gaining exposure to PwC’s practices, supporting teams with basic tasks, and observing professional work environments. Core Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as an Audit Intern will include:
• Audit Support: Supporting audit teams in conducting financial statement audits and assurance engagements.
• Document Review: Participating in the review and verification of financial documents to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Methodology Application: Assisting in the application of auditing methodologies and accounting standards such as GAAP and GAAS.
• Data Analysis: Engaging in data analysis and interpretation to identify financial trends and insights.
• Report Contribution: Contributing to the preparation of financial reports and disclosures for stakeholders.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborating with team members to manage client relationships and deliver audit services.
• Compliance Learning: Learning and applying internal controls and compliance auditing techniques.
• Data Security: Observing and participating in the implementation of data security and quality measures.
• Data Visualization: Utilizing data visualization tools to present financial data effectively.
• Transaction Analysis: Analyzing financial transactions and statements to support audit objectives.
• Information Gathering: Gathering and organizing information to support risk identification and management processes.
• Accounting Understanding: Developing an understanding of accounting policies and financial reporting standards.

What You Must Have (Required Qualifications):
• Education: Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA Eligibility: Before starting full-time at PwC, meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment.
• GPA: At least a 3.0 overall GPA.
• Program Year: Client service intern positions are entry-level roles intended for job seekers who are in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application.
• *Winter internships• typically occur during the spring semester preceding the student’s final year of school.
• *Summer internships• typically take place during the summer preceding the student’s final year of school.
What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):
• Higher GPA: Preference for a 3.3 overall GPA.
• GAAP Knowledge: Demonstrating knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Audit Experience: Participating in external audit processes and methodologies.
• Financial Analysis: Engaging in financial statement analysis and reporting.
• Data Skills: Utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Audit Application: Applying auditing methodologies in financial audits.
• Client Communication: Supporting client management and communication efforts.
Travel Requirements: Up to 100%
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is: $29.25 – $48.00. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
