Job Description: Audit Intern
This internship is specifically open to students from select universities (Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Sam Houston State University, Southern Methodist University, Stephen F. Austin University, Texas Lutheran University, Texas State University – San Marcos, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Mississippi – Ole Miss, University of North Texas – Denton, University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Dallas) due to their earlier recruiting cycles.
As an intern in Crowe’s Audit and Assurance practice, you will gain in-depth exposure to the auditing profession. Responsibilities include:
• Auditing client financials, transactions, and internal control processes: This involves sharpening analytical skills and working both independently and collaboratively.
• Utilizing audit tools and technologies: This includes advanced analytics, data visualizations, and process flow automation to analyze client data and enhance client experience.
• Working on diverse client engagements: Exposure to various industries such as manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit, government, healthcare, education, construction, dealerships, food and agriculture, insurance, and financial institutions. Experience with benefit plan audits (401(k), pension, or employee stock ownership plans) is also possible.
• Collaboration and teamwork: Working with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment that encourages initiative and on-the-job learning.
Specific Requirements:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Accounting or a similar degree.
• CPA-eligible (150 credit hours) by graduation.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Proficient with Excel.
• Experience with data analytics (strongly desired).
• Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Desire to travel.
