KPMG Audit Intern – A Stepping Stone to Your Accounting Career

This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and reliability of client financial information while gaining valuable experience in the world of financial statement audits. You’ll be part of a team working to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of clients’ operations.

What You’ll Do:

Gain hands-on experience: Play a crucial role in conducting financial statement audits for organizations across key industries.
Develop your expertise: Learn to identify and understand client-specific risks through detailed analysis of financial results, external information, market trends, and client transactions.
Build your technical skills: Learn how to prepare clear and comprehensive audit documentation that reflects your understanding of clients’ processes, systems, and technology.
Sharpen your analytical skills: Execute and document testing of client controls and financial statement account balances, adhering to industry standards and terminology.
Embrace data-driven insights: Contribute to the use of Data & Analytics (D&A) in the audit process, including data extraction, analysis, and the use of tools like AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Power BI.
Develop your professional skills: Refine your communication, time management, and relationship-building skills while working in a collaborative and respectful environment.

What We’re Looking For:

Enrolled in an accredited college or university: Pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or equivalent program.
On track for CPA licensure: Meeting educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state where the office is located.
Strong academic performance: A GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
Technical knowledge: Familiarity with technical accounting, financial reporting standards, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Computer proficiency: Comfortable navigating various computer applications, particularly MS Office (especially Excel), and a willingness to learn KPMG Audit tools.
Passion for accuracy and integrity: Demonstrated commitment to quality service and professional ethics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Able to effectively convey information, manage time effectively, and build strong relationships.
Analytical and problem-solving skills: Capable of applying sound judgment, professional skepticism, and critical thinking.
Team player: Flexible, adaptable, and able to contribute effectively within a team environment.
Leadership potential: Demonstrated experience in leadership roles.
