Audit + Assurance Intern | Hannis T. Bourgeois, LLP

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person Hammond, LA
• Team: Works closely with an Audit + Assurance team, reporting to Seniors, Supervisors, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Mission: To learn and assist audit professionals in ensuring client financial accuracy and compliance while building client relationships across industries.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Support audit professionals under the direction of senior staff and partners.
• Learn: Become familiar with firm policies and procedures, including workpaper preparation, audit, accounting procedures, and internal control documentation.
• Apply: Keep current on technical accounting issues and learn to apply them to client circumstances.
• Utilize: Become proficient in using the firm’s technology and research tools.
• Develop: Begin to develop a command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Experience: Zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skills: Curiosity, strong communication, detail orientation, teamwork, and an interest in applying GAAP and auditing standards.
