Location: Liberty High School

Reports To: Athletic Director and/or Head Coach
Responsibilities: Coaching, development, and supervision of an athletic program.

Key Duties:

• Consistently reports for work as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards.
• Actively seeks feedback from supervisor(s) and/or colleagues.
• Communicates high expectations for athlete behavior and reinforces expectations.
• Communicates regularly with the Athletic Director.
• Meets responsibilities in a timely manner regarding fiscal management.
• Seeks professional growth and learning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the sport, policies, rules, and game management strategies.
• Understands athletes’ developmental level and moves them to their next level.
• Complies with rules and regulations of governing bodies.
• Demonstrates leadership that exhibits fair, understanding, tolerant, patient behaviors that create a positive environment.
• Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills that are timely, professional, and consistent with the goals of the program, school, and district.
• Develops positive and respectful communications and relationships with stakeholders.
• Builds and maintains a program that fosters individual and team growth and development.
• Creates a competitive environment where all athletes have a chance to experience both individual and team success.
• Identifies and applies a variety of strategies and tactics to maximize opportunities for success in competitions.
• Maintains, inventories, stores, and re-orders equipment prior to the beginning of the season.
• Evaluates assistant coach(es) where applicable.
• Has communication procedures that are clearly defined, consistently used, and proactive when possible.
• Includes and values stakeholders.
• Is aware of injuries to athletes, communicates with athletic trainer and parents, is proactive with injuries, makes sure athletes are medically released to return to play
• Plans for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual character development of all athlete/athletes in the program
• Produces practice plans that are detailed and assist with the advancement of individual skills progression and and strategy development
• Pursues appropriate professional learning activities.
• Submits rosters, transportation requests, and certifications prior to deadlines.
• Supervises all facilities and athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions

Required Qualifications:

• ASEP Certification – American Sport Education Program
• CHSAA Certification – Colorado High School Activities Association
• High school graduate -high school diploma or equivalent
• NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Certification – National Federation of State High Schools
• Teacher License: Initial – Colorado Department of Education
• Teacher License: Professional – Colorado Department of Education

• Contingent upon the specific athletic, activity, or academic event being approved by the District.

• Hours Per Day: 7.5
• Number of Days Per Year: 183 (M-F)
• Benefits Eligibility: Under Part-time – Ineligible
• FLSA Status: Exempt
