Job Description:
PCG is offering a summer internship program for motivated college students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related fields. The internship aims to provide comprehensive insight into the specialty construction industry through mentorship and hands-on activities. Interns will gain real-world experience and develop a solid foundation in construction management.
Key aspects of the internship include:
• Mentorship: Each intern is paired with a mentor who will guide them through the “Performance Contracting Intern Activities Checklist”.
• Structured Activities: The checklist exposes interns to various disciplines within the branch’s business.
• Weekly Project Recaps: Interns document their activities, collaborations, and key takeaways.
• Diverse Tasks: Examples include:
• Learning proposal writing
• Preparing bid analysis and review
• Understanding project scheduling
• Attending pre-bid walk-throughs
• Learning project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis
• Managing subcontractors, materials, and equipment
• Working with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Assisting with quantity take-offs
• Maintaining project documentation
• Understanding financial job cost analysis
• Learning about the corporate safety program
• Understanding specialized equipment utilization
• Tracking and costing value material handling
• Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly wage of $25 an hour
