Job Description:

Performance Contracting is seeking motivated college students for a summer internship program. This internship is designed to provide interns with comprehensive insight into the specialty construction industry.

Mentorship & Hands-On Experience: Interns will be mentored and participate in hands-on activities to gain real-world experience in construction management.
Intern Activities Checklist: Interns will follow a structured framework exposing them to various disciplines within the branch’s business.
Weekly Project Recaps: Interns will submit detailed recaps of their activities, collaborations, and key takeaways.

Examples of tasks on the checklist include:

• Learning to write detailed proposals
• Preparing bid analysis and reviews
• Understanding project scheduling
• Attending pre-bid walk-throughs
• Learning project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis
• Managing subcontractors, materials, and equipment
• Working with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Assisting in quantity take-offs
• Maintaining project documentation
• Understanding financial job cost analysis
• Learning the corporate safety program
• Understanding specialized equipment utilization
• Tracking and costing value material handling

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly wage: $25 an hour
• Relocation reimbursement and corporate housing options are available

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a comparable degree.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to relocate for the assignment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Understanding of specifications and drawings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn new job skills.
• Customer service, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Preferred Requirements:

• Demonstrated baseline construction knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and/or OnScreen Takeoff is a plus.
