Job Description
PCG is offering a summer internship program for motivated college students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related fields. The internship provides hands-on experience in the specialty construction industry. Interns will be mentored and exposed to various disciplines within the company.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities:
• Proposal Writing: Learn how to write detailed proposals.
• Bid Analysis: Prepare bid analysis and review processes.
• Project Scheduling: Understand and demonstrate project scheduling.
• Pre-Bid Walk-Throughs: Attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
• Project Management: Learn about project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
• Subcontractor & Resource Management: Learn how to effectively manage subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
• Client Interaction: Work directly with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Quantity Take-Offs: Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs.
• Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely project documentation and correspondence.
• Financial Analysis: Understand the preparation of a financial job cost analysis.
• Safety Program: Learn the administration of the corporate safety program to ensure job site safety.
• Equipment Utilization: Understand specialized equipment utilization.
• Material Handling: Track and cost value material handling.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly wage: $25 an hour.
• Relocation reimbursement and corporate housing options available.
• Upon completion of the internship, interns receive an evaluation for future employment consideration.
