Job Title: Associate Market Medical Director
Location: St. Louis, MO market
Role Summary:
ArchWell Health is seeking an experienced physician for a leadership opportunity as an Associate Market Medical Director. This role is primarily patient-facing but includes dedicated administrative time. The ideal candidate will be a physician with value-based care experience who enjoys direct patient care but is also seeking to expand into a leadership position, providing leadership and administrative support to a group of providers within the St. Louis market.
Clinical Duties Include:
• Rendering outpatient primary care medical and consulting services for ArchWell Health patients.
• Maintaining accurate and appropriate records of all professional services.
• Documenting patient care accurately, ensuring precision in patient records, encounter notes, medical diagnoses, and all related documentation.
• Collaborating effectively with care team members and other employees to provide high-quality care and maintain excellent morale.
• Working with colleagues to ensure a high-quality patient experience, minimizing wait times and allowing for timely evaluation of patients with urgent needs.
• Participating in public relations, direct sales, or outreach events both inside and outside ArchWell Health centers to engage the community and promote ArchWell Health’s model of care.
• Participating in clinical meetings, including reviews of hospitalized patients, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, and/or peer review activities.
• Being available for call coverage on nights, weekends, and/or holidays for patients of their regular center(s) or, if requested, other ArchWell Health centers, following a determined call schedule.
Associate Market Medical Director Duties Include:
• Providing direct leadership to a subset of providers within the market, potentially across multiple locations.
• Conducting monthly (at minimum) 1:1s and annual performance reviews with direct reports.
• Reviewing standard metrics and addressing any performance or behavior-related issues among direct reports.
• Conducting referral reviews, IDT (Interdisciplinary Team) rounds, and admission record reviews as needed to support direct reports and enhance utilization management within the market.
• Partnering with operations to drive and execute workflows that align with the ArchWell Health model.
Required Education/Experience:
• Education: M.D. or D.O. graduates.
• Experience:
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-residency (MD/DO).
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant value-based care experience.
• Certifications: Board certified/eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (required for physicians only).
