Associate – Financial Advisory Services | Huntington National Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time, exempt role at Huntington National Bank, primarily based in an office setting with potential for flexible work arrangements. As an Associate on the Financial Advisory Services (FAS) team, you will be instrumental in developing solutions that address the financial and operational challenges facing our clients. Your work will directly contribute to improving clients’ overall performance by applying strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting and finance.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Advisory: Analyze historical financial results to identify normalized earnings, working capital trends, and key diligence findings, assisting in Quality of Earnings (QoE) report preparation.
• Corporate Restructuring: Perform cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and capital structure analysis to identify risks and support turnaround plans.
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain comprehensive financial models, including projections, sensitivity analyses, and scenario modeling to support business plans.
• Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and assist in automating financial reporting and diligence workflows.
• Client Support: Support client interactions, data requests, management interviews, and stakeholder communications during diligence, restructuring, and bankruptcy processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or other analytical fields.
• Experience: 2-4 years of experience in corporate restructuring, investment, accounting, and/or consulting.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, a robust understanding of accounting and finance, proficiency in financial modeling, critical thinking, and strong oral communication and business writing skills.
• Bonus: MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or another analytical field; advanced foundation in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; foundational understanding of operational & financial restructuring; ability to design, build, and use comprehensive integrated financial models; willingness to travel (25-50%); ability to pass an FBI background check with fingerprinting to be associated with a broker dealer.
