Associate, Exit Planning and Transaction Support | Accordion

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Accordion, a financial consulting firm that serves as private equity’s value creation partner. As a 1,600-person organization, Accordion helps clients drive end-to-end value creation by supporting the office of the CFO through financial consulting rooted in data, technology, and AI. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, dedicated transaction-focused team, where you will solve complex issues alongside finance and technology experts, guiding clients through transaction-related projects to prepare companies for sale and support them throughout the deal process.

• Mission: This person supports clients through transaction-related projects, focused on preparing companies for sale and supporting them throughout the deal process to maximize exit valuation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare go-to-market materials: Work with company management, private equity teams, investment bankers, and other third parties to support the development of an equity story and other go-to-market materials.
• Conduct financial analysis: Utilize Excel and Business Intelligence tools to develop a variety of granular financial, operational, and business segment analyses.
• Validate deal assumptions: Analyze, quantify, and validate deal-related assumptions including synergies, add-backs, and pro-forma financials.
• Manage data room creation: Manage and/or support the development and population of an investor-ready data room.
• Respond to due diligence inquiries: Work with CFOs and their teams to respond to due diligence and other deal-related questions from financial or strategic buyers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, with 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or quality of earnings.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or quality of earnings. Proven ability to manage, simplify, analyze, and present large and complex datasets using Excel and other tools, coupled with transactional finance and operational finance understanding.
• Skills: High attention to detail, advanced quantitative skills (especially financial modeling and corporate valuation), and ability to prepare reports, presentations, and memos, presenting data-driven insights clearly and succinctly.
• Bonus: Experience with Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Power Query, and Power Pivot) is highly desired; an MBA is a plus.
