CenterPoint Energy is currently seeking an Associate Dispatcher to join their Gas Operations Dispatching Team in Evansville, IN. The Associate Dispatcher will be responsible for monitoring gas emergency and gas and electric meter orders for company and contract service technicians. They will work cooperatively with the Contact Center, Receivables Management, Field Operations, and emergency agencies to coordinate efficient and timely scheduling of emergency and non-emergency meter order work. This role will require the ability to analyze and respond to changes in priority and resourcing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure the best possible emergency response time and most productive routing and scheduling.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring gas and electric meter order work for company and contract employees.
• Supporting the oversight of meter order management resources, assisting in the review and revision of technician routes, order distribution, and resource allocation.
• Communicating with Field Operation Technicians and Supervision to provide contingency plans and keep informed of schedule changes.
• Managing current and future customer and Vectren generated work orders to maximize productivity, control costs, and meet regulatory Minimum Gas Service Standards appointment compliance.
• Monitoring meter order work for performance and adherence to daily schedules and reporting anomalies to Performance Management and Field Supervision.
• Processing incoming customer and emergency agency (911 fire & police) calls for potential natural gas related emergencies.
• Increasing customer safety and satisfaction by clearly communicating safety precautions and capturing detailed facts to enable response by field personnel.
• Evaluating priority and urgency of gas emergency orders to ensure customer safety and response by field personnel.
• Managing third party damage communications to internal and external customers up to executive leadership.
• Responding with urgency to all emergency calls, such as gas leaks, outages, and other unsafe situations, and conveying the urgency to field operations for rapid response.
• Fielding incoming calls efficiently to meet department metrics.
• Working extended hours for undetermined time frames due to operational demand. The position requires a 24x7x365 rotational schedule, which includes working weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience with SAP or a mobile data dispatching system, as well as one year of experience in or supporting gas distribution operations or one year of equivalent dispatching experience. A strong background in teamwork skills and the ability to produce desired results and maintain composure in a rapidly changing high stress environment are essential.
